On October 3rd and 4th, 2024, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montenegro hosted a two-day event within the framework of the “Development and Implementation of Metacognitive Problem-Based Modules in Blended Learning Courses in Medical Sciences” (ProBLeMS) project. This Erasmus+ initiative, launched in April 2023, focuses on enhancing medical education through the integration of metacognitive and problem-solving modules into blended learning formats. The project aims to strengthen teaching methodologies and modernize curricula across the Western Balkans.
The first day of the event featured a welcome speech from Ms. Vanja Drljević, National Erasmus+ Coordinator for Montenegro. Representing the National Erasmus+ Office, she emphasized the critical role of international cooperation in advancing education and the importance of capacity-building initiatives like ProBLeMS. Her remarks underscored the project’s contribution to the improvement of teaching methods and the adaptation of educational programs to modern demands.
Following Ms. Drljević’s address, Asst. Prof. Dr. Snežana Mugoša and Assoc. Dr. Mirjana Nedović Vuković presented the achievements of the ProBLeMS project at the University of Montenegro. The first day concluded with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Dejan Bokonjić, who summarized the outcomes of the project at other participating institutions.
The ProBLeMS project, set to last 36 months, involves several universities from Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Austria. Its main objective is to support the development of human resources and improve the quality of education by transferring knowledge and adopting innovative teaching practices.
