Today, a cluster meeting called “Green Transition in Montenegrin higher education landscape” was organized by the National Erasmus+ office, in the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Montenegro. It gathered coordinators and local coordinators of Erasmus+ projects of capacity building in the field of higher education that are being implemented in Montenegrin institutions of higher education and are oriented towards a green economy. The event also gathered non-academic partners that are participating in these projects.
Considering that a green economy is one of the key priorities of the new cycle of the Erasmus+ project, the goal of this cluster meeting was to ponder the institutional approach to green initiatives in Montenegrin institutions of higher education in general. It was introduced how Montenegrin universities contributed to this topic, and what are some of the green initiatives that universities are implementing, while the special focus, as previously mentioned, was on Erasmus+ projects of capacity building that are focused on the green economy, i.e., on already achieved/expected results and the influence of these projects on the system of higher education in Montenegro.
In the introductory part, the attendees were addressed by Prof. Marija Jevrić from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Montenegro and Vanja Drljević, the director of the National Erasmus+ office, and they expressed the significance of this topic, as well as the importance of Erasmus+ projects that are oriented to this field.
