From November 6th to 8th, 2023, a HERE seminar entitled “Towards the Ministerial Conference in Tirana 2024: Implications and Points of Interest for Higher Education Systems of Partner Countries in the EU Neighborhood” was organized in the premises of the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The seminar was organized by the SPHERE (Support and Promotion for Higher Education Reform Experts). The SPHERE group consists of OBREAL Global (coordinator) and the European University Association (EUA), acting as a service provider for the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). SPHERE activities include seminars, study visits, technical assistance missions, and communication and dissemination for the HERE network and national HERE teams.
The aim of this seminar was to update and open dialogue on key developments in the higher education space of involved partner countries in the EU neighborhood. Considering the upcoming Ministerial Conference to be held in May/June 2024 in Tirana, the seminar served as an opportunity to discuss the latest achievements, ongoing challenges, and future orientation of the EHEA (European Higher Education Area).
The seminar was attended by representatives of the SPHERE team, the Executive Agency of the European Commission, representatives of the National Erasmus+ Offices, as well as national HERE teams consisting of representatives of policymakers from relevant ministries, higher education institution management, the academic community, and student representatives.
